Football contest begins
This week marks the beginning of the Chronicle’s annual Football Contest featuring matchups of local and regional high school, college and professional football games.
The person with the least number of misses will win $15, second place $10 and third place $5.
“You don’t have to be a pro to enter the contest,” said publisher Charley Najacht. “In fact, the more entrants, the better the competition,” he said.
Participants look in each of the 13 sponsor ads and pick the team they think will win and put that name in the appropriate numbered blank at the top of the page.
Deadline is the following Friday at 5 p.m. in the Chronicle office. Friday postmarks of mailed entries will also be allowed. Only official newspaper entries will be graded. No copies, please.
