Micah Grace looks to his coaches for advice during the third round of the 113 pound match up. Grace lost the match in a 3-1 decision in overtime, earning him eighth place.

The Custer High School wrestling team competed in the last invitational of the season, signifying the start of the road to the state tournament.
The Wildcats competed at the Hill City Invitational on Saturday, where the team took 11th place with 54 points and placed four wrestlers.
David Sigdestad (195 pounds) took first place while Ben Marchand (195) took fifth. Blake Jensen (126) took sixth place at the invitational while Micah Grace (113) took eighth.
“We had some good matches and the kids looked really good,” said assistant coach Andy Kainz. “We still have some things to work on. We need to keep moving. We can’t just stand there like we were doing.”
Coach Jared Webster took the senior wrestlers to a State “A” tournament in Sioux Falls, which saw competition from all of the Class “A” schools in the state. At the invitational, Chasen Cole (132) was beat out by the first and fourth ranked wrestlers in the state while Clayton Wahlstrom (182) took second place, losing to the same Rapid City Central wrestler from earlier in the season.
