Robert Garbisch

Robert Lee “Bob” Garbisch was born April 17, 1943, in Wausau, Wis., to Theodore and Amy (Johnson) Garbisch. He was a loving father and husband who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He touched the hearts of many people with his kindness throughout his life. Some of Bob’s favorite times were enjoying the beauty of the outdoors including hunting, fishing and camping.
Bob died Aug. 11, 2013, at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, S.D. He was 70.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his parents; and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Garbisch of Custer, S.D.; son, Brian (Stacy) Garbisch of Summerset, S.D.; daughters, Sara (James) Murphee of Rapid City; Tristen (Jonathan) Snyder of Port Charlotte, Fla.; brother, Harvey Mathwick of Willard, Wis.; Karen’s children, Lonny Scramm of Argyle, S.D., Scott Scramm of Custer, Gail Dell of Custer; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at McColley’s Chapel of the Hills in Custer.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 16, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Custer with Pastor Steve Wagner officiating. Interment will follow at the Custer cemetery.
A memorial has been established to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
