Jim Goodrich

Published: Thursday, August 15th, 2013

Jim Goodrich was born on Sept. 17, 1936, to Lewis and Anna Goodrich. He grew up in Whitehall, Mich., and later moved to Montague, Mich., where he met his wife, Karen, of 58 years. Together they raised four children and enjoyed all that life had to offer.
Jim loved hunting and was never shy to share a few hunting stories. He loved RC Cola, sweets of any kind, traveling and making everyone laugh. He also loved old cars and could name the make, model and year of any car you spotted. But what he loved most was God and his family.
Jim died surrounded by family Monday, Aug. 5, 2013, at his family’s home in Custer, S.D. He was 76.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Anna Goodrich; and his sister, Marge LaPree.
Jim is survived by his wife, Karen; his sons, Jim (Robynne), Joe (Kim), Jay (Michelle); daughter, Ann (Wayne) Webster; grandchildren Jen (Barry) Gordon, Joe (Amy) Goodrich, Kristie (Jim) Meyer, Chris (Natalie) Goodrich, Bobby Goodrich,  Jim Goodrich, Samantha Goodrich-Scudmore,  David Goodrich, Eric (Sarah) Goodrich, Kate Goodrich, Samantha Tate, Jeff Tate; 17 great-grandchildren:  Jon, Sarah, Rachel, David, Hannah, Jeremy, Alex, Alyssa, Emily, Serenity, Maddie, Abby, Amy, James, Eli, Lily and Grayson; sister, Maryann  (Bob)  Duncan; brothers, Chuck (Dorne) Goodrich, Dick (Dawn)  Goodrich; foster brother Carl Baxter; sister-in-law, Maxine Streblow; brothers-in-law, Bob Smith and Richard LaPree; and many nieces and nephews.
