10 reasons you should be at the Playhouse

Carrie Moore
Published: Thursday, June 27th, 2013

I always know it’s summer when I see three things — groups of flies swarming the office, blinding white legs on display after months hidden beneath layers of warm clothes and the first play at the Black Hills Playhouse. Summer is a busy time for everyone with graduations, family reunions and vacations, but I urge everyone to see at least one play at the Black Hills Playhouse this summer. Why? Well, let me give you 10 reasons.
1. Boeing Boeing.
2. Tuesdays with Morrie.
3. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.
4. Children of Eden.
5. Hound of the Baskervilles.
Going back to its normal routine, the Playhouse boasts five different plays. “Boeing Boeing” finished earlier last week, but you still have the chance to see the other four this summer. In fact, “Tuesdays with Morrie,” based off the book written by Mitch Albom, will premiered Thursday night.
Coming from a really artsy area in Michigan, attending plays, concerts and galas was just another summer night. However, these plays rival any performances I have ever seen — including some Broadway-caliber shows. The performances feature wonderful actors, great directors and amazing sets.
