Many events planned for Old Time Fourth

Independence Day in Custer will once again be celebrated during the Old Time Country Fourth Celebration July 3–5. Among the activities will be a children’s fair, arts and crafts fair, live music, frontier reenactors, family games and races, parades and fireworks.
• Children’s Fair at Way Park (free and open to the public)
July 3: 12–3 p.m. and July 4: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Old-time games, live music, eating contests and more. The family games and races will be July 3 from 1–3 p.m. and again on July 4 from noon to 2 p.m.
• Old Time Country Fair (arts and crafts)
July 4 – 6:10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Arts and crafts fair located at the 1881 Courthouse Museum.
• Parades (free and open to the public)
July 4: 10 a.m. Kids Parade, followed by the Patriots Parade, downtown Custer. Flag-raising ceremony with the national anthem and a 21-gun salute following the parade at 11 a.m. at the 5th Street flag pole.
• Fireworks (free and open to the public)
July 4: Live music starts on Pageant Hill, located at 8th and Canal streets at 6 p.m. and continues until the Custer Fire Department’s fireworks start around 9:30 p.m.
