Rita Hylle

Rita Marilyn Kane Hylle was born June 18, 1949, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Joseph and Helen Kane. She grew up in Rosemount, Minn., where she later married John David Hylle Aug. 14, 1971, a marriage that Rita and John shared for 41 years. She attended the University of Minnesota, Georgia Tech University and Arizona State University.
Rita’s welcoming, out-going personality, her wit and warm sense of humor put a smile on the faces of everyone she touched. She shared a passion for education, a passion that exuded beyond her duties as grants administrator and special assistant to the founding chairman at Helios Education Foundation. Prior to moving to Phoenix Ariz., Rita and her husband John, owned businesses in Custer, S.D., Scottsbluff, Neb., and Greeley, Colo.
Rita’s laughter, her caring, her selflessness and her smile sorely will be missed by all those who knew her, but especially by her family and friends.
Rita died Jan. 18, 2013, in Phoenix. She was 63.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Helen Kane; and her nephews, Michael Brand and Andrew Newberg.
Rita is survived by her husband, John; sisters, Sharon (Jerry) Brand and Rose Marie Kane; brother, Jim Kane; sisters-in-law, LuAnn (Bob) Newberg-Anderson, Kathleen (Lee) Poppen; brothers-in-law Dan (Laurie) Hylle, James (Marie) Hylle, Richard (Sue) Hylle, Bob (Linda) Hylle; and several nieces and nephews.
A Rosary and services were Jan. 23 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Tempe, Ariz. Interment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, account #32667938.
