Jackie Williams

Jackie Lynne Williams was born at Mather Air Force Base in Sacramento, Calif., to Jim and Kathy Simpson. Jackie lived a very full life and loved strong and true. 

Throughout her life her passions varied, but her true love remained in music. When she was younger, she could be found at the Mountain Music Show in Custer, S.D., singing her heart out. She also played for the Black Hills Symphony and Orchestra for many years and loved performing at the band shell in Memorial Park in Rapid City, S.D., on Wednesday nights.

Jackie traveled all over the U.S., Europe and Scotland, going to concerts to see Eric Clapton and other various musicians as well as sightsee. She lived every moment to the fullest and could often be found riding her motorcycle in the Hills or doing poker runs since she was a member of the ABATE Club. Jackie loved spending time with her family, friends and cats. She will forever be missed by anyone who had the joy of having her in their lives, but most of all her family who will forever love and miss her.

Jackie died Jan. 1, 2013, in Las Vegas, Nev. She was 48. 

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Tom and Mildred Grable; her brother, Raymond; and her beloved husband, Michael Williams. 

Jackie is survived by her parents, Jim and Kathy Simpson of Custer; daughter, Jennifer Doll; and four grandchildren, Alyssa, Daizie, Curtis and Lucain, all of Custer. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Research or the Human Society of the Black Hills.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10 at Edstrom & Rooks Funeral Service, Serenity Springs Chapel of Tranquility in Rapid City.  Her ashes will be inurned at a later date.
