Bringing you cheer: Gangnam style

I think Jason may hate me, but I can’t say I blame him. I don’t usually ask him to do something un-newspaper-related, but Charley pointed out that videos are part of what we do.
I have a tendency to see something and say, “We could do that!” Such as the Fashion Police.
As our social media specialist at the newspaper, Carrie is my enabler, always willing to jump right in and help us make fools of ourselves.
In fact, it was Carrie who first showed me the video “Gangnam Style” on YouTube. My first thought was, “How strange.” But then I noticed in a trade publication that another newspaper had done a parody to the song “Call Me Maybe” and I thought (naturally), “We could do that!”
Carrie egged me on encouraged me and we were soon planning how many scenes we needed to shoot, what locations we had to arrange for and what props we would need.
As with all my ideas — such as the new magazine, Down Country Roads — Charley is our “reality check,” pointing out all the reasons why we shouldn’t do something new. And, as with everything else, we pretty much ignore his advice and plunge headlong into whatever wild hair has sprouted.

I saw a copy of your new magazine, Down Country Roads, recently and would like to know if it is available on line or do you have subscriptions for them?
My granddaughter used your article on McKenzey Haley as a resource for a writing project in school. It is a great magazine; full of great pictures and articles.
