Evacuation notice rescinded

The final evacuation notice of the West side of Highway 89 from the Black Hills National Forest boundary at "18 Mile" to the Minnekahta Junction is rescinded. The public may return to their homes West of highway 89, officials in Custer and Fall River Counties said. Argyle Road and Argyle Loop remain closed on the East side of Highway 89. Fire officials are working through ...the night with Custer and Fall River County emergency managers and local power companies to restore power to areas that are without power or water, officials said. The power companies are working to bring in generators to the Argyle Road area to restore power. Water will be hauled to livestock if needed starting Sunday morning case by case. Residents needing water and or feed hauled to livestock should call 605-673-8105 for more information. Other decisions regarding evacuations and other matters will be discussed first thing Sunday morning. Stay tuned for more information. Custer County dispatch and part of Custer City experienced a power outage at 2142 hours. Street lights are still out at this moment. Lots of lightning in the area.
