Delton ‘Bob’ Whitney

Delton Robert “Bob” Whitney was born May 2, 1942, in Davison County, S.D., to Stanley and Lucille (Kelly) Whitney. He worked in construction and served as the chief of the Pringle (S.D.) Volunteer Fire Department for 31 years. He was a very kind and caring man and would help anyone who needed help.
Bob, of Pringle, died May 30, 2012, at Custer Regional Senior Care in Custer, S.D. He was 70.
Survivors include his wife, Violet “Cookie” Whitney of Pringle; sons, Robert (Julie) Whitney of Pringle, Dean (Karen) Whitney of Custer, Joe (Dena) Whitney of New Underwood, S.D., Wendell (Karen) Whitney of Pringle; daughter, Dawn (Denny) Tesch of Rapid City, S.D.; brother, Donald (Cindy) Whitney of Black Hawk, S.D.; sister, Darlene Bollock of Rapid City, S.D.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 14, at the Pringle Fire Hall with Pastor Becky Piper officiating. Interment will follow in the Pringle Cemetery.
