Playhouse future is up in the air again

Chronicle Staff
Published: Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

For over 60 years, area residents and visitors have enjoyed evening and matinee performances at the Black Hills Playhouse in Custer State Park. This thespian tradition may come to an end if Playhouse and Custer State Park officials cannot get together on signing another long-term lease for the Playhouse. The current 10-year lease is scheduled to end in September this year and Park officials want to see some better Playhouse business and facility maintenance plans for the future before another long-term lease is signed.
