A few years ago, I would frequently pick up a copy of the Hot Springs Star and chuckle whenever I read one of the city council stories. At that time, it seemed like former Hot Springs mayor Carl Oberlitner was constantly under siege from his city council or city residents. There was name-calling, back-stabbing and general chaos, it seemed. I remember thinking how great it was I didn’t have to cover those city council meetings. My, how things change.
