We wish to take this opportunity to thank all of our readers and advertisers for another year of your friendship and support and to wish you all a very blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year!
We look back on 2008 and wonder where in the world the year has gone. Time surely does not wait for anone. With what has happened to the economy in these past few months of 2008, we should all be looking forward to 2009 with both great anticipation and a little bit of trepidation.
We truly hope the new administration in Washington is successful at helping to turn things around and get us back to what we used to call business as usual. By that we mean getting our economy back on the right track and returning some semblance of confidence into the minds of the American people once again.
Right now there is a great deal of uncertainty in just about everything in our country that we used to take for granted. We hope the last shoe has dropped in the Wall Street scandals and bailouts of some of our nation's largest banks and corporations. Many of our fellow citizens will be facing job losses as businesses cut back, anticipating an economic slowdown.
It is said that our nation may be facing a complete collapse akin to the the Great Depression in the 1930s. We can only hope that is not the case and that the economy will rebound sometime early this next year. That would be a great present for all of us in 2009. Whatever happens, the American people will deal with it and come out the better for it. That's what we have done before and we can do it again. We can't waste our time worrying about those things that we cannot control.
So, with a positive attitude of better days ahead in our country, state and community, we want to wish all of you the very best this holiday season. We sincerely appreciate your loyalty and support and value each of you as a friend.
