The Custer Volunteer Fire Department was called to a structure fire at 829 Crook Street at 5:10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17. The home is the the residence of Justin and Ashley Boggs.
Upon arrival, the firemen witnessed heavy smoke coming from the structure and determined everyone was out of the house.
The windows were black, indicating high heat and smoke inside the home. The upper windows were broken to release the heat and smoke from the structure and entry to the living room area was gained. Fire crews found the fire in the east wall of the living room.
An investigation determined that the fire started in the area of a wall electric heater.
The Custer Fire Department was assisted by Custer Ambulance Service, Custer County Sheriff’s Department and the Red Cross.
