Edwin L. “Lee” Brauner was born Sept. 8, 1924, in Custer, S.D., to Frank and Elster Brauner. He attended Custer High School, was a veteran of WWII and a graduate of South Dakota Tech.
He was married to Helen Messina of Schenectady, N.Y., on Oct. 18, 1952. He worked for General Electric Co. for 38 years at their plants in Schenectady, N.Y., Philadelphia, Pa., and Salem, Va. he also traveled for GM to Japan, Italy and Australia. He was an electrical engineer in the drive systems department. Lee was also a fan of reading and owned thousands of books.
Lee died Aug. 19, 2010, in Pasadena, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Helen Anderson and Herman Brauner.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; son, Thomas; daughter-in-law, Melonia; daughter, Barbara; grandson, Dashiell; and nephew Rudy (Lois) Anderson;
Donations in his memory may be made to the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology.
