Several new teachers will educate Custer county students this year, most of them at Hermosa Elementary School.
Laura Armstrong is teaching a section of fourth grade at Hermosa. She is originally from Elkton and went to college at South Dakota State University. Her experience includes eight years teaching in Winner at both rural and middle school.
Armstrong and her husband are both looking forward to living in the Custer county area. She was impressed with the school district’s administrative and teaching staff, as well as test scores.
“I have felt at home since the first time walking through the doors,” Armstrong said. She credits the staff for making her transition so easy.
