Custer students participate in band and choir festival

Representing Custer High School at the 38th annual High Plains Band Festival in Chadron, Neb., Feb. 1-2 were, from left, Ariel Cisneros, Michelle DeHaven, Sean DeHaven and Nick Castro.

 

Nicholas Castro, honor band, alto saxophone; Ariel Cisneros, festival band, clarinet; Michelle Dehaven, festival band, flute; and Sean Dehaven, festival band, alto saxophone; were among the 270 high school students hosted by Chadron State College for the 38th annual High Plains Band and Choir Music Festival Feb. 1-2.

Each student was selected for one of the event’s four groups by submitting audition tapes last fall. The groups are honor band, honor choir, womens choir and festival band. The group represents 26 high schools in three states.
