Shawna Gibson finds herself double teamed by Hill City’s Kelby Wiederhold and Alise Kelting during last Saturday’s game at the amory.

Although it was a win, Custer High School girls basketball coach Stephanie Ornelas felt it was more of a struggle than necessary.

The Wildcat girls basketball team headed north to Lead-Deadwood Feb. 8, and came from behind to pull out a 40-33 win over the Golddiggers after trailing the majority of the game.

“It wasn’t a good game for us,”â??Ornelas said.â??“But the girls pulled it together at the end of the third and fourth quarter.”

The team trailed by as much as 10 in the game and struggled at the free throw line, making only seven of 28 attempts.
