A local foundation aims to increase its treasure chest so it can start doling out grants again in the Custer community. The First Interstate Custer Area Fund’s board of directors is initiating a major fund drive this month in order to qualify for matching funds from First Interstate Foundation and the S.D. Community Foundation. The goal is to raise $125,000, not only in the Custer area, but also the same amount in Belle Fourche, Hot Springs, Lead-Deadwood and Wall. The total campaign goal is to raise $750,000. Available only in the print version of the Custer County Chronicle. To subscribe, call 605-673-2217.
