After learning an unwanted “lesson” in a dual against Douglas last Thursday, the Custer Wildcat wrestling team looked nothing like the team that lost to the Patriots when they competed in the Belle Fourche Invitational Tournament this past weekend. Instead of being passive, the Wildcats proved they can be both tough mentally and physically when they put their minds to it. “They looked good at Belle,” said Wildcat coach Jared Webster. “The kids were ready to wrestle.” Instead of “giving up” like they did a few days earlier, Webster said the ’Cats stayed strong throughout the whole six minutes of the matches and were able to go through the “moves.” By doing that, five Custer scrappers placed, which meant a lot to their coach.
