Flower lady receives flower chair

Published: Thursday, March 20th, 2014

Jenny Behlings proudly displays her flower-stamp-covered chair in her store, Jenny’s Floral.

Jenny Behlings will always remember the day she turned 50.
Behlings and her group of friends went to Rapid City, where they celebrated in style. After a night on the town, the group spent the next afternoon shopping downtown, stopping by the Suzie Cappa Art Center, which supports artists with different abilities.
“We walked in and everyone was gushing over these chairs that are covered in stamps,” Behlings said. “All of these stamps are donated by people and decoupaged by artists. They’re really cool.”
As one of the members from the group checked out, Behlings was directed toward a chair in the back, which was currently being worked on.
“Denise (Thompson, one of the birthday celebrators) had me check out what the artist was working on,” she said. “I saw she was gluing stamps to the chair, but I didn’t take note of what they were.”
