The Custer High School Art Club once again painted a tabletop buffalo for the annual Custer Stampede. The unveiling for the art was held last weekend. Art club members who helped are, from left, Autumn Conwell, Samantha Janson, Amber Renken, Katie Starr (holding buffalo), Bridget Hanson and Jessica Tennyson.

The club, consisting of juniors and seniors, spent the better part of two months painting the buffalo, which they have named “Max,” a take off from artist Peter Max.

“It’s colorful and fun,” said Custer High School art teacher Susan Hulinsky, “with a splash of tradition.”
