Picking All-Decade teams a tough job

| For the past few years, I have been tossing around the idea of picking “All-Decade” teams for Custer High School sports when this decade came to a close and I entered my 10th year here at the Custer County Chronicle. How time flies. Little did I know how much of a chore it would be. For the past several weeks, I have been gathering opinions, pouring over the past 10 years of Chronicle sports pages and All-Conference and All-State teams, finding the best of the best in each sport. Some of the sports are easier than others. They have all been work. It’s hard to whittle down a decade of good athletes into a single team. The end result, however, is what I believe to be the best each sport has to offer from the past 10 years. Perhaps the toughest sports to compile a team from are the sports I know the littlest about—wrestling, soccer and volleyball. I have taken the liberty of being able to place a wrestler at any weight class he competed at in his high school career, which helps. Soccer I enlisted a lot of help, because, quite frankly, I know next to nothing about the sport. Available only in the print version of the Custer County Chronicle. To subscribe, call 605-673-2217. I am trying to find the article that list the athlete's of the decade. I was recently told by a Custer resident that my son, who attend Custer High School, is on the list of athlete's that made the pick. I would like to see a full print of the article if possible. My son's name is Louis Good Shield. Thank You for your time.
