You used to see him everywhere. He was lean and mean. Maybe he had big muscles, a flat-top haircut and was last seen driving a convertible one hundred miles per hour, shooting a submachine gun one-handed, picking bad guys off with flaming bursts of bullets hundreds of yards away. Or, maybe he was a lean guy with a faraway look in his eye, long hair and a dark past. He carried his Beretta nine-millimeter stuck in the waistband of his jeans and was the burnout cop that just didn't care anymore. The bullets from that Beretta had a "special hollow point" and magically rained destruction on legions of hard guys, formations of speeding mafia limousines, helicopters and satellites in low earth orbit. When you first saw him, he was almost always announced by a phrase starting with: “In a world…”, and ending with something like, “Somehow, somewhere, someone’s gonna pay!” Available only in the print version of the Custer County Chronicle.
