Alice Gregerson was born in Long Pine, Neb., on June 9, 1923, to Clyde Roy and Jenevive (Lake) Sandy. Her family then moved to the Buffalo Gap, S.D., area by covered wagon, which she was very proud of and would tell story after story of the adventure. Shortly there-after, she attended school in Buffalo Gap and that is around the time she met and married Leo Gregerson Aug. 13, 1942. The couple had three children:Ronnie, Linda and Leonard.
Alice enjoyed being a ranch wife and doing anything outdoors. One of her favorite activities was keeping and tending to her garden and her flowers, which still bloom and show their beauty every spring. She enjoyed helping Leo feed cows and she thoroughly enjoyed the calving season on the ranch.
Up until the time of her death, Alice loved to play cards and visit with people. Her favorite visitor who truly made her eyes light up was her great-granddaughter, Autumn Jolene.
Alice died Dec. 6, 2013, at Rapid City (S.D.) Regional Hospital. She was 90.
