Nancy Griffin

Nancy P. Griffin was born in Torrington, Conn., March 1, 1952. She graduated from Nasson College of Springvale, Maine, and St. Mary's Hospital School of Medical Technology in Clifton, N.J. She spent most of her working career at Winsted Memorial Hospital in Winsted, Conn., as a medical technologist.
Nancy moved to Custer, S.D., to retire in 2003, along with Steve, Erin, Nate, Dakota and Cheyla. Nancy's family came first, last and always. She enjoyed gardening, was an avid jigsaw puzzler, loved Scrabble, Little House on the Prairie and having barn parties with her many Custer friends.
Nancy was loved by her family and friends and will be fondly remembered for her keen sense of understanding. She was a woman of few words but long on wisdom.
Nancy lost her battle with cancer Dec. 2, 2013. She was 61.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice E. and Madeline P. of Perregaux Goshen, Conn.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 39 years, Steve, of Custer; daughters, Kris Griffin of Winsted, Conn., and Erin Halls of Custer; grandchildren, Nathaniel Riley, Dakota and Cheyla Jacquemin of Custer and Blake Liefert-Griffin of Winsted.
Private services will be for family at the Custer Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O Box 427, Custer, SD 57730.
