Carolyn (McKillip) Jensen was born and raised in Sioux Falls, S.D., Aug. 6, 1948, to William and Berniece (Snap) McKillip. She moved to the Hot Springs, S.D., area in the late 1960s.
Carolyn met Gary Jensen and they were married in September 1970. They raised two children; daughter, Shari and son, Robert. She spent almost all of her adult life as a law enforcement dispatcher and was the first female police officer hired by the VA in Hot Springs in 1978. Outside of her family, Carolyn’s greatest love in life was a love of horses, which she carried to her grave.
Carolyn had a strong unbending faith in Christ and prayed for family and friends to accept what has happened without question, but to move on with their lives and enjoy each moment that they have. Carolyn wants you to know that if you want to remember her, look into the eyes of a horse and if you want to see her look into the eyes of her children.
Carolyn died April 18, 2013. at her home in Hot Springs. She was 64.
She was preceded in death by her father and four brothers.
