Don J. Quinn was born Sept. 3, 1956, to Kent and Dolores (Kasubaski) Quinn in Portage, Wis. He graduated from Black Hawk High School, South Wayne, Wis., in 1974. He lived in the Chadron, Neb., area for the past 30 years and worked as a heavy equipment operator. He cherished his family and many friends across the U.S. and had a true love for the woods and nature.
Don died unexpectedly on Monday, March 25, 2013, at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage. He was 56.
He is survived by his four children, Danny (Mary) Quinn and their children, Mikayla, Madison and Megan, all of Kansas City, Kan., Ben (Rochelle) Quinn and their children, Ethan and Joshua, all of Norwood, Colo., Jennifer (Josiah) Smith and their daughter, Jaelyn, all of Douglas, Wyo., and Jaime Quinn of Chadron, Neb.; parents, Kent and Dolores Quinn of Westfield, Wis.; four sisters, Rose Ann Quinn of Madison, Wis., Kathy Quinn of Indianapolis, Ind., Paula (Joe) Chlebus of Taylorville, Ill., and Mary (Chuck) Vallner of Montello, Wis.; good friend, Duane Fox and his family of South Wayne, Wis.; many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held March 30 at Steinhaus-Holly Funeral Home in Westfield with Pastor Alyson Janke officiating and April 6 at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron with Pastor Rod Bieber officiating.
