MaryAn Sandland of Rapid City, S.D., died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012. She was 88.
She married Lormer Sandland in 1943 and they had five children together. They owned the Rocket Motel in Custer, S.D., in the early ’60s. After their divorce she moved to Rapid City. She returned to Custer in the early ’70s and lived in Custer for five years before moving back to Rapid City. She had many friends in Custer.
Survivors include her daughter, Lorna Rogers of Rapid City; sons, Gerald Sandland of Agar S.D., and Kirk Sandland of Santa Barbara, Calif.; brother, Ted Ressler of Mandan, N.D.; sisters, Angie Gratz of Bismarck, N.D., and Aggie Schumaker of Rapid City; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Following cremation, no services will be held.
