After 19 years in various positions within the Custer School District, Paul Anderson has tendered his resignation.
Anderson, the principal for the Jr./Sr. high school, had his resignation accepted by the Custer School District Board of Education at its March meeting.
“I just feel like it’s time for a move,” Anderson said. “We have talked about it as a family. This school system and this community have been fantastic. We raised our kids here. We appreciate the wonderful education they have received, and the care and concern the school and community have given our children. But, you just reach a point where you feel like it’s time to move on and do something else.”
Anderson has served the district in a variety of capacities over his 19-year tenure. He has spent the past five years as a principal. Before that, he was an activities director for 18 years, a classroom teacher for eight years and has spent 15 years coaching, including both assistant and head coach of football, an assistant for boys basketball and head coach for girls basketball.
Anderson said he has been considering leaving his position for a couple of years. His tenure will officially end a few days after the end of the school year, as per the terms of his contract.
