‘Loser’ to begin
Published: Thursday, January 24th, 2013
The first official weigh-in for this year’s Custer County Chronicle “Biggest Loser” contest will be tomorrow, Jan. 24. Contestants may weigh in any time during the course of the day up until 5:30 p.m. If a potential contestant is unable to weigh in on that day, they should call the Chronicle office at 673-2217 to make other arrangements.
As always, the contest will run for six months, with the winner declared at the end of the six-month period. The winner will be the individual who loses the largest percentage of their body weight over the course of the contest. The winner will receive the lion’s share of a prize package provided courtesy of local businesses. The overall second and third place finishers will receive prizes as well. Each of the top three finishers for the month will receive a coupon for a free six-inch Subway sandwich, courtesy of Custer Subway.
A team competition will be available again this year, as well. Potential contestants are encouraged to form teams, both to enhance the competition and help keep each other on track during the course of the contest.
All contestants must be 18 years old and have a doctor’s consent form or sign a waiver before beginning the competition.
Weigh-ins will be every third Thursday of the month throughout the duration of the competition. Contestants who do not show up for a weigh-in or make other arrangments on the day of the weigh-in will be disqualified from the competition.
After each monthly weigh-in, results will be printed in the Custer County Chronicle, with a more detailed account of how each contestant is doing in the competition in the Western Trader. Those who would like to root for their favorite “Loser” may do so by purchasing a shout-out ad for $10 by calling the Chronicle at 673-2217.
Available only in the print version of the Custer County Chronicle. To subscribe, call 605-673-2217.
