No longer stealing Christmas

Jason Ferguson
Published: Thursday, December 20th, 2012

Jason Ferguson of the Chronicle interviews the Grinch. The Grinch arrived at the Chronicle office last week on his personal tour bus. He answered a variety of questions during his stay and shed only minimal hair on the ground for Chronicle staff to sweep up after he left.

The Grinch, as everyone knows him, is the at-one-time bitter, grouchy, cave-dwelling creature with a heart “two sizes too small” who used to live on snowy Mount Crumpit, just above Whoville. Unable to understand why the Whos were so happy, he set out to deprive the Whos of Christmas, stealing their presents, decorations and food.
With the help of his dog, Max, he was able to steal all of the Whos’ belongings, but Christmas still came. It was then the Grinch realized there was much more to Christmas than presents and decorations.
Now, at the tender age of 105, the Grinch sat down with the Chronicle’s Jason Ferguson to discuss his past and talk about his present.
Jason Ferguson (JF):âThanks for agreeing to be interviewed, Grinch. It’s a pleasure to speak with you.
The Grinch (TG): Please, call me by my given name—Barnabus Delroy Fitzsimmons III.
JF: Errr...I’ll do my best.
