Crystal Wiles won the Chronicle’s “Biggest Loser” competition with 18.12 percent of her body weight lost during the six-month competition.

xercise, healthy eating habits and a good support team were the keys to “Biggest Loser” Crystal Wiles’s 27-pound weight loss. Wiles started the competition at 149 pounds and ended at 122 — a 18.12 percent loss in body weight.
“I’m so excited,” she said. “I am so happy with the progress and look forward to continuing it.”
Wiles signed up for the Chronicle’s “Biggest Loser” competition after her team partner and sister-in-law, Dawn Ramsey, convinced her to join. Wiles and Ramsey’s team, the Hermosa Hopefuls, also won the team competition with an overall weight loss of 17.91 percent.
“This was my first time entering the Chronicle contest but I’ve had similar contests with family and friends,” Wiles said. “It’s a great support system to have.”
Wiles set a goal to lose 25 pounds — a goal she passed by two pounds.
“I learned that if you set your mind to it, you can do it,” Wiles said.
