Information about interest periods and the four-day school week were provided to the Custer School Board by Supt. Dr. Tim Creal on Monday, Feb. 8, during its monthly meeting. Board member Walker Witt said he would like to see what percentage of time a student is in class with the main teacher, not a substitute. Face-to-face time with the core teacher is important and Witt said he would like to know what percentage of time a student is gone and what percentage of time the teacher is gone. Does the average student receive adequate teacher time, wondered Witt. If so, he asked if the board really needs to go on with this evaluation.
