The girls golf team continues to hold its own as the season carries on after a quadrangular meet in Hot Springs on April 2.
Seventh graders Elizabeth Watland and Leah Zacher stayed consistent in the match-up against Hot Springs, Belle Fourche and Douglas. Watland was 57 while Zacher was 64.
“They have really great attitudes and their swings are coming along,” said coach Royed Hollick. “It’s going to take consistency.”
The team has a new addition with seventh grader Cassidy Adam who is practicing with the team.
“She’s never golfed before so I’m not sure she will do any competing, but she’s been working with the girls,” Hollick said. “She’s got some good people helping her.”
With the nice weather last week, the team was able to get on the course and practice.
“We worked on short game and our putting,” Hollick said. “We’re just trying to get consistent with that.”
If the weather allows it, the golf team will compete at the Lead-Deadwood quadrangular with Belle Fourche and Spearfish on Thursday, April 11.
