Three, four and five will be magic numbers for the Custer High School boys golf team this fall.
Not only are three, four and five good scores on most holes on a golf course, but the three, four and five golfers for the Wildcat golf team are what head coach Paul Kelley believes will make or break his team this year.
“We need that third, fourth and fifth guy to step up and give us some good scores,” he said.
With one tournament under its belt already, the team heads into the 2010 season as one with decent numbers, but as one that is also incredibly young and inexperienced. Of the 10 members of the team, two can’t even compete because they are sixth graders, and most of the rest are underclassmen or middle school students who have limited or no varsity experience.
