As Yogi Berra once famously said, it was deja vu all over again.

For the second straight year, in the first round of District 15A play Tuesday, Feb. 23, the Custer High School girls basketball team hosted a Hot Springs Bison team it had swept in the regular season. For the second straight year, the Bison came to the armory and stunned the Wildcats.

And, for the second straight year, a crestfallen Custer coach pointed to one thing as the difference in the game—free throws.

“They made theirs. We didn’t,”âCuster head coach Stephanie Ornelas said.
