If there are two more evenly matched teams in the Black Hills Conference than Hot Springs and  Custer, it wouldn’t be by much. The two teams proved that again last Saturday in Hot Springs, as the Custer High School girls basketball team traveled south for a matchup with the Bison, coming away with a 41-38 win in another back-and-forth game with their rivals to the south. Hot Springs took the early lead in the game, building up an 11-7 lead after the first quarter, before going ice cold in the second quarter. The Wildcats stepped up their defense in that frame, holding the Bison to only three points, while scoring six of their own to go into half down only one, 14-13.
